Zero Electric Fan by _Wick
Via Flickr:
Zero Electric Fan Model 1265R This fan is from the 1950’s. It’s a great fan and still works well, but it would never make it past the Product Safety Commission today. The metal fan blades are minimally enclosed where an idiot could stick several fingers at once into the fan on the front side, and his whole hand into the blade on the back side. So there is less of an enclosure to slow down the movement of air. The high strength metal propeller (rather then contemporary plastic) is geared to achieve higher revolutions per second, resulting in a higher air velocity. Fan was made by McGraw Electric Company, Bersted Manufacturing Division, Boonville, Missouri. Image taken with a Canon 5D Mark II, and 14mm lens. Off Camera blue jelled, but otherwise bare flash was above and slightly in behind the fan. Reddish light was created with incandescent light bulbs. Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200) Aperture f/2.8 Focal Length 14 mm ISO Speed 200 Exposure Bias0 EV Flash On, Fired
